As an owner of several properties in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, it is always difficult to find a contractor worth the money. With that being said, I may have just one of the best electricians in PA. The scenario below recently took place and it shows how building customer loyalty though good business practices still exists.
One of my tenants reported a strange situation where some of the rooms in the property had flickering lights the night before and finally went our all together. After about an hour of troubleshooting myself I determined the issues was at the source. Most property owners will try to do the work themselves, but when the job requires a professional, they need to find one that can do the job quickly within a reasonable price.
Unfortunately, it was a Sunday afternoon and after determining it was more than I could handle, I started calling local electrical contractors using Craigslist. Craigslist can have mixed results, but sometimes you just get lucky... I expected to call several numbers, leaving messages and hoping to get a call back within a reasonable time frame. On the first number I called someone actually answered with a friendly professional manner. I explained my situation, and did a quick interview of his qualifications and experience and asked if he could take a look.
Within an hour he was at my door as promised and ready to assist in troubleshooting the issue. After about 15 minutes, he quickly identified the issue with one of the phases being out at electric box. Within 30 minutes, he resolved the issue and asked for a reasonable fee.
It is easy to find a fly by night contractors, who either cannot do the job, or will charge an arm and a leg for minimal work. When an owner finds a good skilled professional like this electrician in PA, it is easy to refer other business his way. As a proponent of good customer service, it is always refreshing to see small business owners who look for building long term relationships to grow their business like this gentleman.
